SAINT LAURENT WOMENS SUMMER 24 BY ANTHONY VACCARELLO
The Saint Laurent Summer 2024 womenswear collection is defined by simplicity and a return to foundations. The stance is pragmatic, with couture-informed daytime looks and a looser silhouette than in past seasons.
Anthony Vaccarello drew inspiration from Amelia Earhart, Adrienne Bolland and other pioneering women who infiltrated domains once considered exclusively male, such as aviation and car racing. The result exudes what has long been a quintessential Saint Laurent premise: assertive sophistication, liberally taking elements from a men's wardrobe and making them lastingly feminine.
Variations on the safari jacket and jumpsuits are among the key pieces whose utilitarian ease is contrasted with considered gestures like a belted waist. A prevalence of cotton and linen in earthy colors, from olive and maroon to sand and chalk, evince a natural slant, while sharp accessories including leather gloves and high heels add the refinement the house is known for.
The collection is presented against a modernist set of kaleidoscopic, mineral surfaces, affording views of the Eiffel Tower while highlighting its soft elegance.
